What do you think?

i like the look of this!

I like the very simple premise with these retro 3D graphics and sound effects a lot! I have to tell you at first I was really annoyed by the super hard to beat enemies - but then I just realized they don't have to kill to finish a level. So I think the difficulty in this case is intentional and an interesting choice. Although I think it you should decrease their aggression level - just a little bit. I've mentioned I liked the super simple level design but I'd recommend you to use later in the more maze-like levels some little variety (because everything was just looked the same too much in my opinion). Maybe some more visible traps, doors or different colored tiles could do the trick.

Anyway keep up the good work because this little project of yours could turn out to be a really fascinating game! :)

Explore a series of impossible, cyclopean mazes and fight ancient alien beings in this retro first-person shooter. Paradox Vector is inspired by the old-school vector graphics games of the early 1980's and the non-Euclidean geometry of M.C. Escher.

Vector Graphics

Paradox Vector imagines if vector graphics were still popular when the first-person shooter genre got started. The old-school shooters like Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein 3D arrived well after vector graphics had been all but forgotten. In this open-world game, you can see a different kind of retro shooter, one that never actually existed.

Inspired by arcade games from the early 1980s like Tailgunner, Battlezone, and even the original Star Wars game, Paradox Vector takes this abandoned style, and brings it up to date.

Impossible Geometry

The impossible art of M.C. Escher had a big influence on Paradox Vector. This is not a puzzle game, but an action game set in a puzzling environment. Hallways appear to go one way but actually go another, enemies may attack from angles you might not expect, and navigating the levels may require you to think outside of the box.

Don't think it's going to be easy though! The ancient alien stronghold you are exploring is not abandoned. Robotic guards, Squid-Spiders and Flying Jellyfish will make your life a living hell if you are not careful!

Open World

Paradox Vector does not limit players to a simple series of levels, but allows you to explore an open environment, retracing steps as needed. Some weapons and items will allow you to unlock secrets and upgrades, thus rewarding those who are curious and persistent. Don't let the minimalistic graphics fool you, there is a lot to be discovered in this puzzling and challenging adventure.

Early Access

At this time, Paradox Vector is in an unfinished state. We are looking for players who want to try something new, and offer their feedback as well. If you are looking for a seamless and polished game, please wait until the full release. #action #retro #scifi #arcade #other #shooter #puzzle #vectorgraphics #noneuclidean #fps #firstperson #singleplayer #adventure

I have been revising the story for Paradox Vector, drawing on the work of H.P. Lovecraft to give it more depth, and to guide the next steps in terms of creature and environment design...

New guns... I have updated the models for both the hand gun and the machine gun. They have a more complex, organic look to them now. Here you can see the machine gun in the distance, while the player is holding the hand gun.

Updated Paradox Vector to build 0.8.2

Full Screen Issue Fixed - I just uploaded version 0.7.1 , which includes a screen testing function. This should stop the game from giving you an unplayable screen. If the screen size is set incorrectly, it will show a "Resolution Not Set" message.

Paradox Vector has been updated to version 7.0, read more about it in the attached article!
